Q: Why was the Shop, Dine & Ride Guide Created?
A: The Shop, Dine & Ride Guide was created to encourage workers, residents and visitors to continue shopping and dining in Downtown Seattle, and to continue using the transit system to get into and out of Downtown Seattle during the two-year bus tunnel closure.  For more information on the tunnel closure, visit Seattletunnel.org

Q: Who created the Shop, Dine & Ride Guide?
A: The Shop, Dine & Ride Guide was created through a joint partnership between Downtown Seattle Association, Sound Transit, King County Metro Transit, the City of Seattle and Community Transit.  These agencies are working together to make Downtown accessible and affordable.

Q: How do I redeem a Shop, Dine & Ride Guide coupon?
A: To redeem a Shop, Dine & Ride Guide coupon simply present the coupon and show your valid transit pass or transfer to the participating merchant.  Valid transit passes include U-PASS, Puget Pass, Access Pass, Metro ticket, ferry tickets,

Q: Where can I find a Shop, Dine & Ride Guide?
A: Shop, Dine & Ride Guides can be found in multiple Metro information racks throughout Downtown Seattle, which are located in many building lobbies. Click here for a list of specific locations. Guides can also be found at select merchants and on select buses. The following locations should always have a supply on hand: 

  • Pacific Place, 600 Pine St
  • International District/Chinatown Community Center, 719 8th Ave S
  • The Transportation Connection, Rainier Square 1301 5th Ave – Suite 14
  • Downtown Seattle Association offices, 500 Union St – Suite 300
  • Sound Transit offices, 401 S Jackson St

Q: How long will the Shop, Dine & Ride Guides be available?
A: A new Shop, Dine & Ride Guide will be published about every six months during the two –year bus tunnel closure.  The first guide was published in August 2005. The second edition was released in February 2006. Future guides will be published August 2006, February 2007, and August 2007.

A: The Shop, Dine & Ride Guide contains special deals from Downtown retailers, restaurants, cafes, museums, and theatres.  All participating merchants are providing a discount worth at least 15%.  Deals on clothing purchases, meals, and entertainment are abundant!

A: Merchants from the Retail Core, Denny Triangle, Belltown, Waterfront, West Edge, Pioneer Square and Chinatown/International District neighborhoods are participating.
