Featured Merchant Of The Month
Thankfully for John Schmidt and his brother James, the Puget Sound Area easily accommodates their affinity for placing casual, neighborhood restaurants near bodies of water. In 1992, the Schmidt brothers opened their first wildly popular Taco Del Mar on Pier 57 on Puget Sound. John then took their ideas inland to fresh water and a full service restaurant with Greenlake Bar & Grill and then Eastlake Bar & Grill. He has recently introduced the third sibling with a twist, it is not near the water but a few blocks south in the cool, hip South Lake Union neighborhood.
Built to suit in Vulcan's brand new Alley 24 building, (across from REI's flagship store) the Southlake Grill has a cozy feel and contemporary look. While Southlake serves traditional casual standards like fish and chips, burgers, and salads, the menu varies from its two sister restaurants. At Southlake, you can experience the exotic side of "casual" with chicken and jalapeño stoked mac and cheese or, chicken noodle vegetable soup. The Southlake Grill also boasts a forty-seat bar, and an open loft upstairs for banquets and parties for up to 100 of your friends.
Come in for great food at reasonable prices and experience the John Schmidt's famed service and atmosphere at Southlake Grill.
